In order to transport the air precisely to the brake system, a suitable inlet is essential. The F-series already has factory-fitted inlet ducts in the front bumper, but these end in the middle of the wheel arch. To ensure that the air let in through the inlet ducts of the front bumper is not randomly swirled around in the wheel arch, we have developed an inlet duct that can be fitted with little effort and directs the air precisely to the brakes - i.e. exactly where it is needed. The covers can optionally be fitted on the outside in front of the ventilation grilles as protection against moisture or similar. No fastening tools are required for installation on the front axle. They are fitted in exchange for the original duct support. The duct is based on the OEM duct and therefore uses exactly the same connection points and can be completely removed without leaving any residue. As the inside of the brake disk on the rear axle builds up very high temperatures, we have also developed an air duct here, which guides the air directly into the inside of the rim via a flow channel. Every component has been designed to give the turbo a smooth and free flow path. The intake pipe has an internal diameter of 103mm or just over 4? and has a smooth bend from the filter housing to the turbo inlet. The filter itself has been specifically designed for this inlet and has a huge outer diameter of 210mm or 8.3? with a filter area of over 130,000mm^2. The patented Venturi housing has been designed to provide the maximum possible internal volume for the RS3 engine bay and provides laminar flow to the turbo pipe. Finally, the duct seals the filter opening to the front slam plate, but is not restricted only by the stock intake opening. We have raised the front of the duct to now create an additional opening behind the bonnet, equivalent to an extra 7? diameter hole from which air can be drawn in. The resulting system has the ability to lift 840 CFM at 28? H2O while keeping intake temperatures to a minimum with the sealed design. Flow tests We conducted tests with a Superflow SF-1020 to measure the maximum possible flow rate at a pressure drop of 28" H2O. The tests were conducted on the same day under controlled conditions using the same test fixture for each system. We tested our complete intake system against the stock airbox system. The results show how restrictive the stock airbox is, which we were able to improve by up to 58% in maximum possible flow rate. Importantly, this was achieved with a sealed intake system so that intake temperatures are also kept to a minimum. Dyno tests Our RS3 intake system has been tested by various renowned tuners worldwide who have built high performance RS3/TTRS projects for road and track use. The first results come from MSL Performance, who tested our system on a stock 8Y RS3. The tests were carried out back-to-back on the same day. As you can see, there is a measurable gain across the rev range of up to 22bhp. This gain is noticeable even on a standard vehicle on the road due to better throttle response and faster acceleration. The patented KW valve technology for the separate adjustment of the rebound and compression damping allows you to customise the vehicle-specific basic set-up from KW. For example, the KW bottom valve, which can be adjusted in twelve clicks in the low-speed range of the compression stage, gives you the freedom to even take the tyre characteristics of your high and ultra-high performance road tyres into account in the suspension set-up.Thanks to the patented compression adjustment at the lower piston end of the stainless steel housing, you don't even need any tools. The adjustable compression adjustment with its twelve precise clicks allows you to influence body roll and body roll movements by hand without having to change the rebound damping to match the spring rate.With the individually adjustable rebound damping of the KW V3, you can directly influence the handling and comfort through the exact click adjustment.
